Christmas fun

We have had such a great holiday season. A couple of weeks ago we met our friends Shelly, Richie, and their cute little boy, Josh, downtown to see the lights at Temple Square. It was a first for Eliza and also her first ride on TRAX. It was the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit. On the Sunday before Christmas we had a wonderful turkey dinner with Matt's family that was so good. Every Christmas Eve my family has a tradition of getting together at my aunt's home for dinner and chime playing. You'd think after so many years we would be better at it than we are but let's just say that we probably won't be getting a call from the Orchestra at Temple Square any time soon. Christmas day was busy but great. We started off the day with a delicious pancake breakfast at my grandparent's house which we've done for as long as I can remember. It's always a special time to sit together and enjoy grandma and grandpa's "hot cakes" and hot cocoa that is to die for.

Then we visited with both sides of the family and had a fun time helping Eliza open her presents and seeing her have so much fun with all her new things. She got some Dr. Seuss books, a couple new outfits, Baby Einstein DVDs, cute stuffed animals, and a little car that she can push around and walk behind.

After a long, busy day we came home and put Eliza to bed and Matt and I followed not long after. I've always loved Christmas but now that we have Eliza I think it means so much more and I'm sure it's only going to get better. Thank you to all who helped make our holiday so memorable. We hope you all had a wonderful day as well!

Who stole the cookies from the cookie jar?

Okay, they weren't really in a cookie jar but I still didn't think Eliza could get into a ziploc bag. I left the room for a minute and when I came back, this is what I found. I guess I wasn't moving fast enough getting her food ready. Chocolate chip cookies for breakfast? Sounds good to me!
